New Raw Foodie - Sweetbread

It was time for Mom to shop for our Organic Raw Meats as usual & she heard about Sweetbread from a fellow raw-feeder. Anyways this new item will be added into our Organic Raw Meats&Veg&Fruits post. Mom will also be getting a variety of Organic Fruits for us soon as so far we've been havin' only Organic Apples & the rest of the fruits like watermelons etc are not organic.

This is Wiki's definition of Sweetbread:

Sweetbreads or ris are culinary names for the thymus (throat, gullet, or neck sweetbread) or the pancreas (heart, stomach, or belly sweetbread) especially of the calf (ris de veau) and lamb (ris d'agneau) (although beef and pork sweetbreads are also eaten). Various other glands used as food have also been called 'sweetbreads', including the parotid gland ("cheek" or "ear" sweetbread), the sublingual glands ("tongue" sweetbreads or "throat bread"), and testicles (cf. Rocky Mountain oyster). The "heart" sweetbreads are more spherical in shape, and surrounded symmetrically by the "throat" sweetbreads, which are more cylindrical in shape.

So Mom asked for some Sweetbread. She was told this one's from an australian free-range veal's throat. It's very expensive (& it stinks a whole lot too).

She also bought the most expensive cut of Organic Beef (Ribeye & Tenderloin) for us as the cheapest cut (for stew) was outta stock. Not to mention our Wild Kangaroo Game Meat & Organic Whole Chicken as well.

530g S$20.40 (S$38.50/kg) Mom divided this 530g into our 90+ individual daily packets of raw food

free-range Raw Sweetbread is extremely gd & rich for all dogs in general for their immunity & digestive system. However, the advised amt to give accordin' to a well-known breeder overseas is 1 teaspoon PER Whippet size, 2 - 3 times a week. Hence, if you've small dogs, the amt would be a fraction of a teaspoon only.

Organic Beef Ribeye & Tenderloin

The most expensive cuts (from above)

Wild Kangaroo Striploin (Game Meat)

5 Organic Whole Chicken costin' S$200.13 for 6.680kg (S$28/kg)

Mom spent a total of S$533.38 for the above organic raw meats alone. This is excludin' our organic veg/fruits, supplements, salmon belly & lamb livers (which can be found at our given link above), which would probably just round everythin off to approximately S$600. These will last us approximately 1.5mths to 2mths.
